Did you know that in 2007 there were 46 million visitors to New York City? That is 13 million more there were a decade ago. No wonder our city sidewalks are crowded!
Did you know all those people are expected to spend $28 billion? That is almost twice the amount spent 10 years ago. Does this beg the question: where’s the money?
Did you know that the city has a population of over 8 million? But all our neighbors in the NY-NJ-PA Metropolitan area bring the total population count to almost 19 million (18,81,8536 to be precise).
If basic arithmetic is correct, we contend with pedestrian and vehicular traffic moving approximately 65 million people this year!
And the Staten Island Ferry makes 104 trips each day carrying 65,000 passengers for free! Now that is a bargain!
